One of the best ways to advertise an upcoming garage sale is by using online classifieds sites. Some of these get huge volumes of traffic, and many have dedicated sections for garage and moving sales.
You can find which ones are the best simply by Googling keyword combinations like "garage sales Perth", "moving sale Subiaco", "clothes and furniture sale Fremantle", that kind of thing. You'll see that the same sites keep popping up.
I've done this for a few such phrases and I've listed what seem to be the best sites below:

On one you could list your suburb in the title; in another the major items you're selling.
